The Royal Elephant

Admire the Royal Elephant scene in the Francis I gallery. The elephant is designed to represent wisdom and royalty, whilst the stork at its feet represents filial devotion, thereby celebrating Francis I’s wisdom and virtue.


The Grand Parterre

The Grand Parterre is the largest formal garden in Europe. It was Louis XIV’s greatest architectural achievement at Fontainebleau.


Public Opening Napoleon’s Study

Beginning June 29th, 2013 The Public Opening of the cabinet de travail of Napoleon the Third and the salon des Laques de l’Impératrice Eugénie in the Second Empire gallery.
Saturday, June 29th and Sunday, June 30th : 10:15 am, 11 am, 2:45 pm and 4:15 pm
Monday, July 1st : Everyday except Tuesdays from 10:15 am to 4:15 pm
