The Emirate of Abu Dhabi recently awarded a $5 million renewable grant to the Château of Fontainebleau, towards the restoration of the Imperial Theater. Thanks to this restoration, this exceptional location is finally open to the public through the guided visit dedicated to the Second Empire at the château.
In recognition of this donation, the minister of Culture and Communication, Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres, in the presence of his Highness Sheik Sultan bin Tannoun Al Nahyan, president of the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, named the Imperial Theater, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Theatre, in honor of its sponsor.

Crédit Agricole SA, a sponsor from 2007 to 2009, contributed to the restoration and reopening of the Papal Apartment, the Apartment des Chasses (Hunting Apartment), and the Guest Apartment, also called Apartment º48, as well as the development of educational programs, the restoration of Napoleon III’s Study, and the organization of the exhibitions “Picasso à Fontainebleau” in 2007, “Palais de Tokyo” in 2008, and “Design à la Cour” in 2009.

INSEAD made possible the restoration of Marie Antoinette’s Turkish Boudoir between 2007 and 2009.

La Fondation du Patrimoine signed a statement of partnership with the Château of Fontainebleau in 2013, affirming its commitment to support and promote sponsorship at the Château of Fontainebleau at the national, both with individual and corporate sponsors. The Fondation du patrimoine additionally sponsors the restoration of the wall hangings in the Yellow Salon and in the Petits Appartements belonging to the Empress.

Rolex France has contributed to the restoration of the château’s collection of clockwork in the Grands Appartements (including 27 small clocks and longcase clocks). Click here to learn more

Philips achieved a successful sponsorship campaign in 2013 that made possible the holiday light display at the Château, “Les elfes de lumière”, carried out by Blueland.

La Fondation BNP Paribas generously sponsored the publication of an album devoted to the château’s collections, edited by RMNGP. Click here to see the album

Credit Agricole Brie Picardie Initiatives has sponsored the educational program “château en herbe” with the aim of raising awareness in conservation techniques and museology in young visitors, since 2014.

Côté Campagne Traiteur sponsored the 2014 celebrations commemorating the bicentenary of Napoleon’s Adieux at the château. Stanwell made possible the restoration of the Cabinet à Pans (Drawing room) belonging to the daughters of Louis XV.

Bayer Environmental Science is responsible for the restoration of a grove in the Jardin Anglais (English Garden).

Véolia Environnement has contributed to the event "The incredible story of a drop of water" organized in 2010 in the gardens of the chateau.

2S3R participated in 2009 in the restoration of two armchairs “a la reine”, belonging to Madame Elisabeth.
