The Galerie de Diane (Diana Gallery)

Rebuilt on Napoleon I’s orders, the Galerie de Diane is the longest room in the château. Its décor replaces works depicting the myth of Diana created under Henry IV after the construction of the gallery, which is situated above the Galerie des Cerfs (Gallery of Stags). The ceiling painted during the Restoration therefore replaced décor by the Second École de Fontainebleau. Its use as a library dates back to Napoleon III.
