The Imperial Theatre - Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan

Set at the heart of the château de Fontainebleau, the Imperial Theatre - Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Theatre, succeeds the former theatre that was situated in the Wing of the Beautiful Chimney. Built by Hector Lefuel (ordered by Napoléon III) between 1853 and 1856, this theatre was only used by the Second Empire about a dozen times, before its doors were closed for about a century and a half, thus protecting it from any modern developments that would’ve inevitably altered the historical location. After five years of careful restoration, the theatre is now revived with its original décor, ready to serve as a location for imperial parties.
