The Jardin de Diane

Formerly the queen’s private garden, this garden was closed off until the 19th century by buildings whose destruction, following the purchase of a strip of adjoining land, allowed expansion towards the town. An English-style formal garden, it takes its name from a fountain built during Henry IV’s reign that is ornamented with a statue of Diana.
