The Golden Book of Symbols

What do the works of art say and what do they represent? Is it possible that, under what our eyes see, the artist has represented a hidden message? From the very vast repertoire of symbols of the past, painters have drawn images and representation codes, the key to their reading is often lost. These images and codes, the iconographic treasure of Western art presented here, are grouped under the following themes: time, man, allegories, space, plants, flowers and fruits, animals.
