The château is open all year and every day of the week for filming and filming. We are at your disposal to help you find your sets within the château.

Silence, we’re shooting!

Living rooms, galleries, appartments, attics, staircases, corridors, courtyards, ponds, gardens… a variety of settings which allow the production of feature films, historical or not, TV series, documentaries, but also music videos, commercials or TV shows.

From international film productions such as The Man in the Iron Mask (1998) or The Emperor of Paris (2019) to emblematic series such as Versailles (2015-2018) and music videos by successful artists such as Lana Del Rey, Aya Nakamura or Alan Walker to advertisements for luxury houses, so many productions have chosen the château’s sets. Immortalise the most beautiful day of your life!

Take advantage of the exceptional setting of the “true home of Kings, house of centuries” to immortalise your most beautiful moments. With its many architectural styles, its precious interior decorations and its magnificent exterior, the Château de Fontainebleau offers a unique setting for your engagement or wedding photos.

Wedding photos are permitted free of charge in the park, courtyards and gardens of the Château de Fontainebleau during the opening hours of the estate, without specific authorisation. It is important to respect the rules of the visit, in particular not to walk on the forbidden lawns, not to leave any rubbish and not to use a drone or professional equipment.

For indoor photo shoots, several paying packages give access to areas of the castle usually closed to the public (lounge, galleries, chapel, staircases, etc.) for unforgettable photos with your photographer.

Opening hours

The chateau

The chateau is open every day except Tuesday, January 1st, May 1st and December 25th.

From October to March: 9.30 am to 5 pm (last access at 4.15 pm).

From April to September: 9.30 am to 6 pm (last access at 5.15 pm).

The park and gardens are open, under the usual conditions, free of charge.

The restaurant is open every day for lunch.
